Robert Roy, born in Ste-Perpétue, Quebec, in 1957, discovered his passion for painting at 18. What began as a hobby evolved into a lifelong pursuit as he dedicated himself to mastering colour and technique. His travels across fifty major cities worldwide—from Vancouver and New York to Sydney and Honolulu—profoundly shaped his artistic vision. These journeys across the Americas, Europe, Australia, and Asia gave Roy an appreciation for the vibrant panorama of human experience and urban landscapes. After formal training at the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières, Roy developed his signature expressionist style. His dynamic paintings capture movement and street scenes with bold colour and raw emotion, reflecting his philosophy of painting with joy and sharing his feelings generously with viewers.
